# Shogun's Storm

## The Game

Shogun's Storm is a team-based samurai combat game where you pick your side and fight. Blue team or red team. Good guys or bad guys. Each map is a different battlefield from the world of Ghost of Tsushima, and each map has its own roster of fighters — the characters who belong to that place and that part of the story.

You and your friends pick a team, choose your warriors, and clash against the enemy team in 4v4 battles or intense 1v1 duels. The combat is controller-based, using the same controls as Ghost of Tsushima — so if you know how to play Ghost of Tsushima, you already know how to fight. Every character has a unique fighting style. Picking your warrior isn't just picking a look — it's picking a completely different way to fight.

This is For Honor meets Ghost of Tsushima. The team structure. The unique fighters. The tactical combat. But set in the world, with the characters, and with the atmosphere of Ghost of Tsushima.

## The World

### Castle Shimura

The first battlefield. You fight inside the castle — not the burning ruin from the end of the story, but the castle at peace. Cherry blossoms fall through the air while swords clash. There's a contrast between the beauty of the environment and the intensity of the combat. The petals keep drifting no matter how brutal the fight gets. That tension between peaceful and violent is what makes this feel like Ghost of Tsushima.

### Iki Island

The second battlefield. Iki Island carries a different weight. The cherry blossoms don't fall everywhere here — they fall only from the place where Kazumasa died. That one detail changes the entire mood of the map. It's not just a location. It's a memorial. Players who know the story will feel it. Players who don't will just see something beautiful — and both reactions are right.

## The Warriors

Every character fights differently. This isn't a game where different characters are just different skins — picking Ishikawa versus picking Yuna is picking a completely different combat experience.

### Castle Shimura Roster

**Blue Team (The Defenders):**
- **Jin Sakai** — The Ghost. The most versatile warrior in the game. Fights with multiple stances, each with different attacks and strengths. Has a bow and arrow for ranged attacks — he can fight up close with his katana or pick off enemies from a distance. Can activate Ghost Mode — the ultimate ability. Press LB+RB and the screen drains to black and white, the wind picks up, and Jin becomes a force that instantly cuts down any enemy in his path. Except bosses. Ghost Mode is limited — use it at the right moment and it changes the entire fight. Use it too early and you've wasted your strongest weapon.
- **Yuna** — Stealth and daggers. Fast, close-range, deadly. Yuna doesn't fight like a samurai — she fights like a survivor. She gets in close, strikes fast, and disappears.
- **Ryuzo** — Jin's friend. The first time you play Castle Shimura, Ryuzo fights beside you on the blue team. Every time after that, he's on the red team. Just like in the story — he starts as your ally, then betrays you. The game remembers.
- **Lord Shimura** — The uncle. A traditional samurai. Disciplined, powerful, honorable combat.
- **Sensei Ishikawa** — The archer. Keeps distance. Punishes from range. A good Ishikawa controls the battlefield without ever crossing swords.

**Red Team (The Mongol Invasion):**
- **Khotun Khan** — The boss. The leader of the Mongol invasion. Cannot be killed by Ghost Mode. Defeating Khotun Khan takes the whole team working together. He is the final challenge of Castle Shimura.
- **Ryuzo** (after first playthrough) — Now on the enemy side. The betrayal hits different when you have to fight the character who was just your teammate.
- **Mongol warriors** — The forces of the invasion. The soldiers, brutes, and commanders of the Mongol army.

### Iki Island Roster

**Blue Team (The Raiders):**
- **Jin Sakai** — Same abilities, different battlefield. Jin carries everything from Castle Shimura into Iki Island.
- **Tenzo** — A raider ally. Fights alongside Jin on Iki Island.
- **Other raiders** — The warriors who stand with Jin on Iki.

**Red Team (The Eagle's Forces):**
- **The Eagle** — The boss of Iki Island. Like Khotun Khan, the Eagle cannot be killed by Ghost Mode. A different kind of boss fight — a different kind of threat.
- **The Eagle's forces** — The enemies of Iki Island. Different from the Mongols at Castle Shimura — different fighters, different challenge.

## Combat

The combat is controller-based with the same button layout as Ghost of Tsushima. This is a deliberate choice — players who know the original game feel at home immediately.

### What Makes the Combat Work

Every character fights differently:
- **Ishikawa** stays back and controls space with arrows — he's the ranged threat that forces enemies to think about positioning.
- **Yuna** plays stealth and speed — daggers up close, in and out before the enemy can react.
- **Jin** is the all-rounder — stances for different situations, ghost weapons, and Ghost Mode as the ultimate ability.
- **Lord Shimura** is the disciplined traditional fighter — powerful and direct.

Jin is interesting because he overlaps with Ishikawa — both can use ranged attacks. But Ishikawa is a dedicated archer who controls the whole battlefield from the back. Jin's bow is a tool in a bigger kit — he can fire an arrow to start a fight, then close in with his katana and finish it with stances. Two different approaches to ranged combat.

This means team composition matters. A team with Ishikawa covering from range, Yuna flanking from stealth, Jin switching stances in the center, and Lord Shimura holding the line — that's a team that covers each other's weaknesses.

### Ghost Mode

Jin's ultimate ability. LB+RB to activate.

When Ghost Mode hits:
- The screen drains to black and white
- The wind picks up
- Jin moves through enemies like a storm — instant kills on anyone except bosses
- Limited duration — it runs out, and then you're back to normal

Ghost Mode is the signature moment of Shogun's Storm. It's the moment where everyone in the room goes quiet. It's the moment that feels like a cutscene but YOU are controlling it. Save it for when it matters most.

### Boss Fights

Khotun Khan (Castle Shimura) and the Eagle (Iki Island) are the real tests. Ghost Mode can't touch them. Beating them takes the whole team — coordinated attacks, managing abilities, knowing when to press and when to back off. These are the fights you remember.

## Game Modes

### 4v4 Co-op
Pick your team. Invite your friends. Choose your warriors. Fight the enemy AI together. Face the boss. This is the main mode — the core Shogun's Storm experience.

### 1v1 Duel
One warrior versus one warrior. Send an invite to a friend, or fight against AI. Three difficulty levels:
- **Easy** — For learning a new character or warming up
- **Medium** — A fair fight
- **Hard** — The AI reads your patterns and punishes your mistakes

### Tutorial
For players who are new to combat games. Teaches the controls, the mechanics, and the basics of each character. Designed so that someone who has never played a game like this — like your mom — can learn how to play and enjoy it.

## What Makes This Game Special

Shogun's Storm isn't just "a samurai game." Three things make it Sebastian's game:

**1. The roster changes per map.** This isn't just different backgrounds — each map is a different fight with different characters and different team compositions. Castle Shimura and Iki Island are different experiences.

**2. Ryuzo's betrayal.** The game remembers your first playthrough. Ryuzo starts as your ally. Then he doesn't. That's storytelling through game mechanics — the kind of detail that makes players talk about your game.

**3. Ghost Mode.** The screen goes black and white. The wind rises. Jin becomes unstoppable — for a moment. It's the most powerful ability in the game and it looks cinematic. But it can't beat the bosses. That tension — feeling invincible against soldiers but still vulnerable against the real threat — is what makes the big fights matter.
